What is a Holistic Transformation from Infotechtion?

Updated: Sep 6, 2020

If your Linkedin page looks anything like mine, you know that privacy compliance and O365 are two of the biggest IG movers and shakers this past year. It makes sense, and there is a lot of overlap. In a well architectured O365 environment, privacy compliance and records management are efficient and effective – if you do it right. That means any new piece of information created is governed to be put in the right place and automatically labeled for all the right reasons. That is a big part of Infotechtion’s service offerings.

There is still a big gap though – and this is why we created our holistic transformation practice.

A recent internet search indicates that only 40-50% of corporate data has yet to reach the cloud – and only a portion of that is O365 cloud. If you are typical, what that means for you is that even in a perfectly compliant O365 environment, you still have 30 years of emails, personal data, business data, discoverable data, risky data, and expired record data that are outside of this compliant environment.

A 50%-responsive eDiscovery, subject access request, FOIA request, divestiture cleanup, or fraud investigation is never good enough.

Fortunately, there is an easy and complete way to build an inventory of all your corporate data – inside and outside the cloud. Indexing technologies build structure out of unstructured content and allow for multiple levels of analytics, classification, pre-O365 tagging, and the ability to action content. Our services provide the following benefits:

  1. A data map of whatever you throw at it, so that you know what data you have, where is the value, where is the risk. Data cartography is useful for all IG disciplines from planning cyber security, to privacy compliance, to litigation response, to records management.

  2. This can help you plan specifically for O365 by showing you actual data to support strategic decisions about how much content can be migrated, what taxonomy (folders, tagging, naming conventions, content types) will maximize adoption, what problems and opportunities you need to solve for, and in what order.

  3. Once those decision are made, we can classify and apply retention and protection tags to the in-situ content to leverage DLP, isolate expired content for disposition prior to migration, and identify and minimize ROT. Classification includes audio through transcription, images through OCR, geospatial data and facial recognition through photo processing and supports hundreds of file types. Tags and terms can be carried over directly as labels into O365 to take advantage of all the Advanced Data Governance capabilities.

  4. If you are in a hurry though, we can also help you beyond O365 by allowing you to respond immediately to emergency data concerns without needing to migrate first. We can make your CCPA or GDPR access requests, FOIAs, litigation discovery requests, fraud investigations responsive against all content - not just the content that you have under O365 control.

  5. And, we can migrate your data to O365

We'd love to hear your comments about how you are addressing the unstructured landfill in your organization.
